you can’t say yourself happy unless you are happy. life isn’t so easy at all – at least here in dhaka which is declared by economist as 2nd worst city in the world… you’ll never know how long you have to wait under the burning sun for a transportation. so the definition of happiness is a term which we have to consider just at home. so, have a look to the picture above. it’s from my balcony. i do water it everyday.

few updates of my work: well, things around me has changed too fast in last couple of months. this is a site i’ve designed few months ago which was selected as a best site… that was a great honor for me. right now i am working with building an ad network which is quit a new experience for me. i’ll tell you more about it later. yesterday i’ve launched another ‘sleepless night’ idea which you may have a look too.

we call this tree 'krishnochura'. this tree wait all through the year to be praised just for once, only for few days. this is the time of krishnochura blooming.

‘the terminal’ is my most favorite movie for all the time. life is waiting. we wait, we have to wait. sometime waiting makes us feeling good, often its painful. but we have to wait.

i can hear a music very unfamiliar… i never heard this tune. someone playing a guitar in a very wonderful way. i hear music when i wait. but this time waiting isn’t waisting of time. that day when i was waiting under the open sky, a rain drop touched me. i’d love to wait my whole life for being touched by such a rain drop.

waiting makes you a human being, a philosopher or anything you want to be.

i didn’t write here for last few weeks though these were most memorable times of my life. a new life began with new things, new responsibilities and new experiences. the most important part is i am enjoying my time. soon this site is going to be more rich. because a new writer is going to be added.

well, life is beautiful and i am posting my beautiful stories in different places. i’ve created pages at blogspot, tumblr and today at odopod. you can have a look to there. i am sure you’ll like it.

this is how we work. every alphabet is hand crafted, original and different from any other typefaces.

globally it’s common practice that every big company promote their brand using own corporate typeface. when its about using bangla, it’s too uncommon. very few companies here using own corporate bangla typeface though most of them keep the practice in terms of using english font. well, till now its going fine. but i believe very soon it’d be something very important to keep the brand unique and distinctive from others. in business, the sooner the better.

i am working with typeface designing for more than 5 years and i love this job. so please feel free to contact me if you think i can be useful for you.

it was a promise that i’ll show my dissertation here. it took bit long time to write this post though my dissertation was completed and submitted few months earlier. i didn’t invest too much time for writing this… i just wrote my diary. the stories and the discussions here is a common practice of my everyday’s life. i just converted them to alphabets.

when i was writing and designing this dissertation, few ideas came to my mind which i hope you’ll see in real within few weeks. actually the delay was because of this. i wanted to present of these together. this is the start and rest of are coming. keep in touch!

it was a dream to see this site live. i’ve talked with several persons… wanted to work with several people but i had to wait more than a year. it was good. because it gave me space to rethink lot of things… made me more specific about what should i do. after all these ajkerweather.com is live for beta.


i love to see weather sites… somehow the numbers create an atmosphere around me when i see them. unfortunately there is nothing from bangladesh. i hope it’d be a potential platform to serve bangladeshi weather updates. wish us good luck!

alphabets are on the floor, dancing!!!

it always grab my interest when it’s something about typography. an alphabet isn’t just an alphabet always… sometimes it represents the inside – the passion, the anger. i love to see it when it’s very spontaneous, beyond the rules. my nephew was creating something for his class party… he is just 8 and i was really surprised to see when he asked me to see his creation. i can’t remember any brilliancy like that from my childhood… but i am really feeling good to see someone growing more intelligent.

goromcha.com is live for public from 9 january 2010. i guess it’s not such a long time. but we are happy to announce that it’s reaching more people than we’ve expected. there are lot more features are yet to be added… we have some cool marketing plan to bring the site to all kind of internet users. ‘gorom cha’ means ‘hot tea’ which we think the everyday’s drink for all kind of people in bangladesh. the aim of this site is to become such a everyday’s part! we believe it deserves that.

as i was working with the dissertation, i was planning a cover design. well, i had plan to create at least two special font styles only for the dissertation! it was really tough… the layout was ready but the technical development is a matter of hard work and time spending. anyway at least i should write the title name in a special font… so here is the basic structure of a brand new font style. i wish it’d be usable for everyone very soon.

i was writing my dissertation about bangla typography… i am in a hurry – i have just few more hours to complete all the things. when i was searching my archive for some of my works as examples, i’ve found some works which should be shared. they are not something very exceptional but i can remember some good experiences of when they were done.

this is the life, around me... with hopes and uncertainty too!

first i should thank rifat vai… otherwise it’d take few more weeks to live this new theme. the design was ready few more weeks back but it was totally uncertain how it’ll be developed. everyone seems to be busy!

when i look to other designs, i just wish to do lot of things with my design. they are so creative, extra ordinary. but practically i always find limitations. well, this is a step for some other new things. so keep in touch!

the things around me are changing a lot since last few months. some of these were too fast that they became history before i noticed. some of these were too long seemed like never ending! i saw people… i saw how they act and how they react! some were interesting, some were heartbreaking. but somehow they were good for me. i’ve learn once again nothing is so important in life!

these days i am working lot. i don’t know for what but i am in a hurry. i am working with the establishment of a dedicated digital advertising agency which i think is going to be something new in bangladesh. the prothom alo blog which was my last project in my previous office got live few weeks ago. that was another dream project for me but i don’t know why… i didn’t feel any excitement watching that live. life is changing… so i am!

the english alphabet is from the 'axiata' font which was my guideline. i've tried to follow the style.

the former ‘aktel’ re-branded themselves to ‘robi‘ from 28 march 2010. it was the most massive commercial event of present advertising history. i came to know about the new brand name by 15 february though it was something top level secret. suddenly i found myself so special when they offered me to design and develop a new type font for this new brand. it was totally a new experience for me. the maximum share of robi is owned by axiata. so ‘robi’ is using axiata’s brand identity and guideline. i had to follow the style of ‘axiata’ font. the time was too limited and i was new. but that made me desperate. i met the first deadline with a complete developed font which they refused. then the present one came with the effort of another few sleepless nights. i am grateful to my dearest friend and to rifat vai.

so, when i see a billboard saying ‘apnar aktel ekhon’ or ‘jole uthun apon shoktite’ or some other sentences in ‘robi’ font, i do remember the hardest works and loveliest memories

i used to watch this view several minutes, everyday. i found there something which always gave some space in my mind... i'm really going to miss this view!

i’ve passed more than two and half years looking through this window and saw the changes… some changes were so massive that its hard to remember the past. after 4 and half years of my involvement with ebizzsol, i’ve decided to leave! that was obvious, i wanted to believe some other thing but everyone knew the reality before i came to know it!

i liked to remember the first day i came to this place… i can remember the dream i had in my mind; and now the nightmares!
